Spot Price Talk

Price per gram, karat math, and why weight beats hype. We show you the scale before you buy.

Gold trades by the troy ounce, and every real price starts there. 14k is 58.5 percent gold, 18k is 75 percent, 24k is pure, so a gram of 14k is worth a little over half a gram of spot. Multiply grams by karat purity by the day's spot price and you have the metal value of any piece, before labor and stones. We weigh everything on the counter in front of you, because a jeweler who will not show you the scale is telling you something.

Diamond District Gold

Solid gold sourced blocks from the counter on 47th Street. Never plated, never filled, always weighed.

New York's gold district runs one block, 47th Street between Fifth and Sixth, and that block is our pantry. We buy solid 10k, 14k, 18k, and 24k from the same benches and casters the big Manhattan houses use, which is how a made to order piece from us costs less than the same weight in a retail case uptown. Solid gold only. No plated, no filled, no vermeil dressed up as the real thing.

Estate and Vintage Gold

Old New York gold with a past. Estate signets, seventies ropes, and lockets we bring back to life.

Old New York gold carries a story you cannot cast: seventies rope chains, hand engraved signets, lockets with somebody's grandmother still in them. We buy estate pieces, restore them, resize them, and rebuild them into something you will wear now. Bring in the box from the back of the closet and we will tell you what is worth saving and what is worth melting.
